Golden Macadamias is a market leader in quality nut processing and production

processing plant

With our current capacity, we can process over 6,000 tons of dry (in shell) nuts per annum.   Our processing plant is fully computerised, with every step managed by an integrated computer system.  Due to expansion, our current capacity will be doubled within 3 years.

Macadamia drying

Golden Macadamias is committed to protecting the environment. We only use solar and electrical energy during production. We do not burn waste shells, so we reduce pollution.  Macadamia nuts are dried in individual batches of four tons in order to promote the efficient use of energy. Our integrated computer system constantly monitors and adjusts the humidity and the temperature during the drying process. This specialised process substantially increases the quality and the shelf life of our nuts.

Macadamia

cracking

Golden Macadamias carefully tracks the origin and quality of its nuts prior to cracking.  At the beginning of processing, nuts from individual growers are processed in batches. Once logged, our computer system ensures 100 per cent traceability of each batch throughout the entire production process.  The computer system also monitors quality by ensuring correct moisture levels in each batch of nuts processed.

Macadamia

separation systems

Golden Macadamias employs a state-of-the-art saline hydro-separation system, which efficiently removes shell pieces and immature nuts. This process reduces roasting losses and automatically removes dust particles, so enhancing the appearance of our nuts.

Macadamia sorting and drying

In keeping with market requirements, our macadamia nuts are quality graded into 12 different styles.  After sorting and sizing, our nuts are dried to a kernel moisture content of 1.5 percent to enhance quality and taste.  Throughout production, temperature and humidity levels are carefully monitored and controlled, enhancing quality and shelf life.

Macadamia final grading and packaging

Prior to packing, careful secondary and final grading takes place.  During packing, our nuts are gas-flushed and vacuum-sealed in five layer coextruded vacuum plastic bags. Our standard pack weighs 11.34kg (25lbs) and each shipment is inspected by an independent quality control company.

Macadamia storage and cooling

After packaging, our products are kept in cold storage, so optimum quality and shelf life are maintained.
